Also known as red pepper or cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper generally refers to ground but can also be a whole pepper or pepper pieces or flakes.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light, heat and moisture.

Tastes good with
other herbs and spices like cilantro, basil, ginger, oregano, cinnamon, black pepper, cumin, fennel and parsley.

A dash of cayenne is often added to a dish to further boost the flavor of low salt or low fat dishes.

Cayenne Pepper is a hot, spicy powder ground from a bright red, extremely hot tropical chilies. This spice has the power to make any dish fiery hot but amazingly can also be used for subtle flavor as well.

If you have never tried cayenne, use just a small amount (1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon) in a recipe to see if you like how it enhances a recipe. Just remember that it packs a real punch, so use with a light hand.
