When you are trying to stay healthy, try fresh non perservative ingredients. Anything like Salad Dressings that come in a box or a bottle usually are laden with all kinds of add preservative for extended shelf life. Yes, they make the product stay fresher long. But what is it doing to your body?

If it extends your life, what is a few minutes to make a fresh dressing instead of grabbing for the bottle? Besides it tastes sooo much better.

Spicy Pineapple Dressing
Serves 10 (2 tablespoons each)

Excellent served over spinach and red pepper salad

3/4 scant cups (1-inch) cubed fresh pineapple (about 4 ounces), divided
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
4 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon minced jalapeno pepper
1 large garlic clove
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Combine half of pineapple, cilantro, orange juice, vinegar, jalapeno, and garlic in a blender; process until smooth. With blender on, gradually add olive oil until blended.

Per Serving : 44 Calories; 4g Fat (81.2% calories from fat); 1g Saturated Fat; trace Protein; 2g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; trace Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Vegetable; 0 Fruit; 1 Fat.
